Photovoice puts cameras directly in the hands of communities and asks them to document aspects of their lives on a specific issue or theme. Their photographs/videos become the catalyst to frame the narrative they want to tell about their lives and community while raising awareness of their needs and strengths. Photovoice has proven to successfully engage and elevate the voices of communities that are typically silenced or ignored.
Photovoice projects are facilitated by qualified practitioners that possess both practical and theoretical knowledge. Projects are delivered in phases, enabling us to work closely with community members and stakeholders. Photovoice has been used widely in research and community participatory projects and has proven beneficial in reaching goals such as monitoring or evaluation, needs assessment, context analysis, advocacy, awareness raising, and empowerment.
TAP support communities and organizations through visual storytelling to communicate effectively and influence social change. TAP envisions an equitable world where all voices are heard and recognized in the decision-making process, regardless of race, religion, identity, gender, or class.
